It’s busy at the flow (the Water Kiosk on Highway 27 north of Elmvale). The purest groundwater ever tested, springing fresh and delicious from the ground, attracts locals, cottagers and people who choose to drink only the best. Water Protectors were on hand all yesterday to share the latest concerns about the water stemming from a proposed expansion of the Teedon Pit in Waverley.

Flow fans were keen to sign the petition calling on the Ontario environment ministry to protect this precious resource. If you haven’t had the chance to do so, here it is: Water Petition Simcoe Moraine

What to do: Print, sign & send.  Get your friends, family, neighbours and networks to sign. Then mail the paper copies to your local MPP with a cover letter asking that the petition be read out in the Ontario Legislature when it re-convenes in the fall. Request that the MPP let you know when that will happen so that petitioners can attend. Keep a photocopy in case the MPP fails to act. Alphabetical MPP contact list here. Petitions need to be on paper in order to be submitted.
