AWARE Simcoe board approves draft Code of Conduct

The following Code of Conduct was approved by the AWARE Simcoe board of directors at its September 8, 2016, meeting. It will be presented for adoption by the membership at the 2017 Annual General Meeting

Draft AWARE Simcoe CODE OF CONDUCT

The purpose and intent of the AWARE Simcoe Code of Conduct is to establish standards of conduct for the Directors of the AWARE Simcoe Board and the Members of AWARE Simcoe.

The success of AWARE Simcoe depends on our members’ ability to maintain our reputation.

The Code of Conduct provides guidance to what behaviours are expected when representing AWARE Simcoe.   These guidelines will help protect and maintain AWARE Simcoe’s reputation and integrity when undertaking initiatives to promote greater social and environmental responsibilities.

1. Members will embrace diversity and tolerance with regard to race, religion, disability, sexual orientation and gender among its members

2. Members should seek clarification from the Board before making statements regarding AWARE Simcoe policies and positions

3. Members will act with respect and in good faith

4. Anyone who acts on AWARE Simcoe’s behalf should comply with our Core Values.
