Funds are being solicited to pay for a bus so local Anishinabek and their allies can travel to Ottawa for the Idle No More Day of Action on Monday January 28.
Connie Doerkson (known to those who were part of Dump Site 41) and Kim Newby (speaker at Georgian College and Midhurst actions last week) have opened a bank account with Toronto Dominion so people can support the Day of Action with a donation.
The cost of the bus is $1,600 which works out at $35 a seat. Using a school bus on previous trips made the 48-hour drive plus attendance at the protest an arduous and uncomfortable experience.
