May Momentum: Igniting Climate Action

WBCAT sparks a rallying cry for environmental stewardship. As the world turns its focus to the urgency of climate change, May emerges as a pivotal month for collective action. From Earth Day celebrations, Garden Shows and Plant Sales to World Environment Day preparations, May galvanizes communities, governments, and businesses to step up their commitment to sustainability. It’s a time for planting seeds of change, both metaphorically and literally, as initiatives blossom worldwide. With increased awareness and engagement, May becomes a catalyst for meaningful progress in combating climate change and safeguarding our planet for future generations.

Our daily choices have a measurable impact on the environment called “The Carbon Footprint”, which is the total amount of greenhouse gases generated by our activity.

5 key areas impact our footprint: Energy, Transportation, Travel, Food consumption and Waste. With your household carbon footprint and our Wasaga Beach community carbon footprint, we can find ways to reduce our emissions, help our planet, and mitigate climate change.

It will take you only a few minutes to join the Wasaga Beach Carbon Footprint Challenge and measure your carbon footprint.
