Springwater Invites Community to Shape the Future of Parks and Recreation

Township of Springwater / February 15, 2024 – The Township of Springwater is updating the existing Parks and Recreation Master Plan to guide the future planning of recreational facilities, programs, and services in the municipality.  A public open house has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 5:30 pm at the Township Administration Centre, 2231 Nursery Road.

As the municipality continues to grow, the Plan will assist the Township in guiding and managing the direction of parks, open spaces, programs, events, facilities, and amenities in a cost effective and sustainable manner, over the next 10 years.

The open house will provide members of the community a chance to learn about the Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update and its importance to the future of the Township’s facilities, parks, programming and open spaces. Attendees will have the opportunity to review draft recommendations, provide feedback and ask questions of the project team.

‘We want to hear from the community about their preferences for parks and recreation in the Township,” says Briana Dean, Manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities. “Our consultants have put together draft recommendations, based on community input received from the first open house and public survey. It’s crucial for us to ensure that these align with the needs and desires of our residents. We invite community members to join us in reviewing the recommendations, providing feedback and shaping the future of parks and recreation in Springwater.”
