URGENT – Tell Ontario: Don’t deregulate gravel!

Deregulation is dangerous. The Ministry of Environment is currently considering the expansion of the permit-by-rule framework in Ontario. These changes would enable companies to obtain permits for activities that could harm the environment without first going through a detailed review by the Ministry of Environment. Eliminating government oversight and public scrutiny before commencing an activity that impacts our environment is unacceptable. We are specifically concerned about expanding environmental permissions and reducing oversight for the gravel mining industry.
