ONTARIO’S FRESHWATER IS UNDER THREAT
ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENCE and YOURS TO PROTECT
CAN WE TRUST BIG COMPANIES TO PROTECT OUR WATER?
The provincial government wants to erode water protection laws by allowing some stormwater, wastewater and water-taking activities to proceed without an upfront government review. Without a review, companies, with the help of private engineers, could self-register their projects on the Environmental Activity and Sector Registry (EASR) and execute right away without proper scrutiny.
Ask your MPP not to weaken Ontario’s water protection laws.
