Living Green is acting on climate change through their goal of planting 10,000 native trees in Barrie. Thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers, sponsors, and generous donors, this goal has almost reached the halfway point.

Tree planting is one of the best ways that you can honour the earth and our community. It is inherently hopeful because you are planting today for a better tomorrow. Living Green will be hosting several community tree planting events throughout the month of May.

Trees are vital to our very existence. They make oxygen, clean the air, and help fight against climate change. Roots soak up pollutants and make the waters that flow into Lake Simcoe cleaner. They provide habitat for birds and wildlife and make the air feel cooler.

Living Green’s 10,000 Trees for Barrie campaign is underway, and they have planted 4,492 trees to date. A donation of $40 to this campaign buys one planted tree by this charitable organization. To donate, visit: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/52285?v2=true
