Home heating costs are soaring thanks to rising gas prices so there has never been a better time to switch to a cold climate air source heat pump to heat and cool your home.

Switching to a heat pump can save you thousands of dollars over the lifetime of the equipment. It will also dramatically reduce your home’s climate impact. But you may have questions about what is, for most Canadians, a relatively new technology.

That’s why we have lined up some experts to answer your questions and tell you more about the benefits of heat pumps in a zoom webinar on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd at 7 p.m.  ET

We will have two presenters:

  • Heather McDiarmid is the founder of McDiarmid Climate Consulting, which specializes in research work related to decarbonizing the residential sector. Heather has authored a couple of reports on the economic and climate benefits of heat pumps for the OCAA and will talk about the dollars and sense of switching.
  • Gil Amdurski has been a technical coordinator on heat pump pilot projects for the Toronto Region Conservation Authority’s STEP program for 10 years, evaluating the real-world performance of the technology. Gil will share some findings from recent case studies and talk about options, such as hybrid systems.

Both Heather and Gil have also installed cold climate air source heat pumps in their homes, so they can also share their personal experiences.

If you’d like to pay less for energy, cut your climate impact and enjoy greater home comfort, don’t miss this free webinar on Tues. Nov. 22, 7 p.m. ET.  We are asking that you pre-register so we can plan for the event and send you the link when we’re ready to go.

The presentations will be followed by a Q&A. We’ll answer as many as we can live and then post answers to other common questions after the webinar (another reason to register is to be informed when these answers are ready).

We really appreciate Heather and Gil (and others from the TRCA team) taking the time to guide us through this exciting new technology. They have lots of insights to share, so don’t miss out – register today!

Hope to see you on the 22nd!
