‘I am ready to fight for Collingwood’: Coun. Yvonne Hamlin first to enter mayoral race

Collingwood has its first mayoral candidate.
Coun. Yvonne Hamlin declared her candidacy May 2, the first day individuals were able to file.
Hamlin is in her first term on council, having received 3,813 votes in the 2018 municipal election. During her term, Hamlin served as chair of the development and operations standing committee and vice-chair of the joint municipal physician recruitment and retention committee.
She was also an advocate for a townwide reduction in the speed limit to 40 kilometres per hour.
Professionally, Hamlin spent nearly 40 years as a municipal lawyer.
