Upcoming OLT Hearing – Friends of Simcoe Forests

We are reaching out today with a quick update on efforts to further challenge the County of Simcoe on their plans to build a Waste Facility in the Freele County Forest Tract.

The oral hearing for FSF’s motion for leave to appeal the Ontario Land Tribunal’s decision allowing the ERRC to be located in the Freele Forest is taking place on Monday August 22, 2022 9:30am. by zoom.

In simple terms, we are seeking “permission” from the Divisional Court to do an appeal of the Ontario Land Tribunal’s decision and we would very much like you to show your support by attending this hearing via zoom.

Should you wish to attend this hearing please email John Hancock, Trial Coordinator at John.Hancock@ontario.ca and state that you wish to attend the virtual hearing as an observer for DC-22-1293-00ML-Friends of Simcoe Forests, Inc. v. Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing et al.

You will then be sent a zoom link in advance of the hearing. When you join zoom before 9:30 AM, please turn off your video camera and change your name to show as “Observer” in zoom.
