The Blue Mountain Watershed Trust is raising concerns about the first draft of Collingwood’s Official Plan.

George Powell, a member of the organization’s watershed action group, said the plan is skewed toward development.

“This plan contains many inconsistencies,” he said. “For example, it calls for densification, which in principle is good because we don’t want to keep expanding and paving farmland, but then it doesn’t address balancing green space with that increased density.”

The municipality recently released the first draft of its plan and has been seeking comment from the public.

Powell, a retired professional engineer, said the plan pays lip service to the environment and quality of life.
