Recycling items and diverting from landfills is so incredibly important so we just wanted to provide you with a little update on how the collection drive is going.

Just to refresh, the Friends of Simcoe Forests/Recycling Rewards collection bin is located at the Apto Esso gas station 13103 Hwy#27 Phelpston (Apto).

CLOTHING ~ TOWELS ~ SHEETS ~ BLANKETS ~ CURTAINS ~ PAIRED SHOES ~ SMALL HOUSEOLD ITEMS ~ ACCESSORIES ~ BOOKS, etc.

JUST BE SURE TO BAG THEM AND DROP THEM IN THE BIN

We are very happy with how smoothly the collection program is running. The bin is quite tidy and it appears it is being used very responsibly. We hope that people will continue to support the bin as we plan to continue the collection drive through the summer and possibly on a longer term basis.

We are extremely happy to report that 1,455 lbs. of donated items were collected from the FSF bin in month of April. So far for May we are at 699 lbs. Thank you to all of you who are contributing to help generate these weights.

In comparison to last month, collections in May are down BUT we know it’s the long weekend and there’s probably lots of you out there that plan on doing some purging and hopefully those items will end up in this donation bin.

Funds generated from donations collected in this bin go to the nonprofit group The Friends of Simcoe Forests Inc.

Items are being collected from the bin on a regular basis (Tuesdays and Fridays). If at any time the donation bin is full or if you suspect non accepted items have been left then please email us at:  info@friendsofsimcoeforests.com.
