Clothing and textiles continue to end up in our landfills when many could have been re-worn or repurposed. There are so many things we all can do to reduce our environmental footprint. Donating and buying thrifted items is one of them. The Friends of Simcoe Forests are hosting a fundraiser to help out our planet by keeping useable items out of landfills. We are asking for your help by donating any clothing you no longer use. This is a great opportunity for you to get started on spring cleaning…AND we’re making it super easy to donate.

Step 1. Simply fill your garbage bags with your gently used clothing and textiles. Please feel free to reach out to neighbours and coworkers as well. The more bags, the better.

Step 2. Text or call to arrange pick up from your driveway or porch.

Step 3. Pat yourself on the back for helping reduce, reuse and raise money for the Friends of Simcoe Forests.

We hope to kick off this fundraiser the first weekend in February and for it to continue until near the end of March. This gives some time for everyone to fill as many bags as possible. We also hope to hold a garage sale in the spring for which we will be looking for household items. Please keep this in mind when you are purging.

We are in need of volunteers to help out with this fundraiser.

Please let us know if you are able to pick up donated bags and drop off at a designated storage location and/or store items temporarily until the big, bulk delivery day in March when we take the items to be purchased.
