Futuristic rendition of high density development around the GO Train station at the centre of the Orbit.

From Rescue Lake Simcoe Coalition

Innisfil Council has endorsed the use of a Minister’s Zoning Order (MZO) to fast track the building of a GO train station, with 20,000 people in 22 – 25 story towers in the 425 m area around the GO station at Innisfil 6th line, between the 20th side road and Lake Simcoe.

There is almost no public support for an MZO, a planning tool that lacks transparency and has no appeal rights. If things go sideways and do not conform to the vision Council has endorsed, the Town and the public will have little control since normal planning and public consultation rules do not apply.

Add your voice to our call to the provincial government to not approve this MZO in Innisfil.
