Calling all Water Warriors!
The water is still flowing.
But it faces a very real threat from aggregate extraction on the Waverley Uplands, the recharge area for this amazing resource for which we are privileged to be the protectors and stewards.
Read this open letter from Dr. William Shotyk, also sent to all our local politicians. Get in touch with one or more elected officials and tell them you want them to stand up to Big Aggregate.
And make a World Water Day donation to our allies, the Federation of Tiny Township Shoreline Associations, who are playing a leadership role in the legal fight against aggregate expansion.

World Water Day messages
From the Council of Canadians
This World Water Day, take action for water in your community!
Whether it’s pressing the Trudeau government to keep its promise for safe water in First Nations, talking to your municipal council about becoming a Blue Community, or joining the Nestlé boycott, there are many ways you can make a difference.
From the Canadian Union of Public Employees
On World Water Day we commit to protecting water and wastewater services from privatization. We also commit to ending injustice. Water and wastewater services are human rights, yet these services are denied to many Indigenous communities in Canada.
From the United Nations
World Water Day 2020 is about water and climate change – and how the two are inextricably linked. Adapting to the water effects of climate change will protect health and save lives. Using water more efficiently will reduce greenhouse gases.
We cannot afford to wait.
Everyone has a role to play.
