An update on work currently being undertaken on Site C136 has just become available. Item number CCW 16-301 (Click here to download (6.5 mb) is on the agenda for the next County Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for Tuesday Sept. 13th.

It is noted in this item that further archeological work has been recommended following the initial archeological assessments. Artifacts have been found within the facility footprint indicative of an 1830 to 1850 pioneer homestead. It is also noted that this finding will not preclude development of the facility on the footprint but may require a more detailed study and possibly an excavation (stage 3 and 4 assessment).
