Oakville’s mayor to talk Greenbelt in Simcoe County

Oakville Mayor Rob Burton will speak in support of growing the Greenbelt in Simcoe County at a community meeting in Barrie tomorrow (Saturday).

Burton, who is also co-chair of the Municipal Leaders for the Greenbelt, will talk about the importance of growing the Greenbelt in the face of development pressures across the Greater Golden Horseshoe Region.

The meeting, hosted by the Simcoe County Greenbelt Alliance, is at Liberty North, 100 Caplan Ave., Barrie, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Anyone may attend. Municipal Leaders of the Greenbelt is an organization of councillors and mayors from across the Greenbelt active in promoting a strongly protected and growing Greenbelt across the Greater Golden Horseshoe.
