After going in camera and deciding not to receive information submitted by the Town of New Tecumseth and residents, Simcoe County Clerk Brenda Clark said councillors voted 18-9 to lift the stop work order and allow the clear-cutting of the Beeton Woods to go ahead. County lawyer Marshall Green told council the decision can be appealed. However, no stay was put on the order pending the end of the 30-day appeal period. New Tecumseth Councillor Richard Norcross, who attended this morning’s hearing, was consulting with the town’s lawyer and other members of town council on seeking a stay.
