Downtown master plan suggests roundabout, parking changes in Midland

MIDLAND – A new face on Midland’s waterfront with expanded parkland along Bayshore Drive.

A roundabout at King and Yonge streets.

A designated market square for events.

These are a few of the major changes planned for downtown that were put on display for the public’s perusal Tuesday.

“It’s certainly what the town needs,” said Trisha Sheridan, chair of the Midland Public Library Board, who was at the Midland Cultural Centre for a sneak peek.

She said she would like to see more done at King and Elizabeth streets, where the library and the cultural centre are located, to make that area more of a “cultural learning hub.”
