New Tecumseth mayor Rick Milne spent $15,400, of which $12,262.84 was subject to the spending limit of $27,269, to win the October 2014 municipal elections, according to his financial return posted on the Town’s web site.

Mr. Milne reported contributions totalling $14,501 from 19 different entries mostly connected to residential and commercial/industrial development including Cable Bridge Enterprises, Mattamy Homes, and LRG Tottenham. Only three contributors listed New Tecumseth as their address.

The three other mayoralty candidates included Bob Marrs who spent $8,039 on his campaign, and received $1,750 in contributions, Kevin Kemp spent $7,079, and collected $5,500 in donations, and Damon Corbet reported $2,495 in expenses, which he reported as a self-contribution.

Ward 2 candidate Laurie Mortimer has also filed her statement, and reportered $1,204 in expenses, and $1,150 in contributions from Previn Court Homes and LRG Tottenham.

At this post, none of the three deputy mayor candidates, including Jamie Smith, have their returns posted, nor those from candidates who won their seat including Marc Biss, Ward 1; Michael Beattie, Ward 2; Richard Norcross, Ward 6; Shira Harrison-McIntyre, Ward 7; and Chris Ross in Ward 8.

Deadline for filing financial statements is 2 pm March 27, 2015. Missing it without prior notification could cost the winner their seat, and/or render them ineligible to run for office or be appointed to fill a vacancy until after the 2018 election.
