PENETANGUISHENE – The fight to keep Penetanguishene Secondary School open will not be over until construction begins on a new Midland high school, says Penetanguishene Mayor Gerry Marshall.
Education Minister Liz Sandals announced Feb. 20 a new, $27.3-million high school will be built to accommodate students from Penetanguishene and Midland secondary schools.
“It’s just the wrong decision; it’s a bad spend,” said Marshall. “I think there’s a way for PSS and MSS to stay open and save the province some money while we’re at it. Until they break ground, there’s opportunity here.”
