Tickets for the taping of The Agenda with Steve Paikin are sold out — but we’ll be able to see how local panelists answer questions about our growing city Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Two episodes of the current affairs show focus on Barrie’s growth and economy, and panelists include Mayor Jeff Lehman, political science professor Michael Johns, Georgian College president MaryLynn West-Moynes and former mayor Willard Kinzie.

Monday’s show will feature interviews with Kinzie and RVH president Janice Skot, who will talk about how the hospital has grown and some of the projects on the go.

That show will discuss growth — how quickly and how well we have expanded — while the second show, airing Tuesday, will examine how we are coping after the closure of several large manufacturing companies in the early 1990s.

“Is Barrie well placed to build a new high-skilled, entrepreneurial economy? And is a more high-tech economy a good thing for everyone in Barrie’s workforce?” producer Mark Brosens asked.

The Tuesday show will feature an interview with David Busby Street Centre executive director Sara Peddle while the panel that night will consist of West-Moynes and financial advisor and volunteer Tom McBride.
