SIMCOE COUNTY – Freshly re-elected as mayor of Penetanguishene, Gerry Marshall wants to expand his political resumé to include the title Simcoe County warden.

“My executive-level business background, combined with my political experience, make me an ideal candidate,” Marshall wrote in his weekly email to constituents. “Having the time and energy required to fulfil both the role of warden and the role of mayor was a factor in my decision.”

Marshall noted one-third of the municipal tax bill goes to the county, which has an annual budget exceeding $400 million.
