Voters in Springwater can evaluate some of their candidates live on YouTube.

Mayoral candidate Bill French has posted a glowing testimonial from former CTV news anchor Christine Bentley, and a series of clips in which he states his position on a number of issues, including centralized library, recreation and other services, the future of Springwater Park and the Midhurst Secondary Plan.

Linda Collins (whose photo on YouTube and in her literature shows her wearing her chain of office, a no-no as the resources and position of incumbency should not be used in municipal campaigning) provides her view on managing the township’s debt, efforts to prop up Elmvale businesses, the “well-thought-out” Midhurst Secondary Plan and other matters

Deputy mayoral candidate Dan McLean faces an admiring former Springwater councillor in a clip entitled Paul Fleming interviews Dan McLean. In it McLean admits that the MSP will be “catastrophic” to the way of life of Midhurst residents and the rest of Springwater.

Deputy mayoral candidate Don Allen has a piece promoting his business experience.

Elsewhere in Simcoe County, you can catch Midland mayoral candidate Gord McKay, Nina Bifolchi and Gary Cerantola, both running for deputy mayor in Wasaga Beach, and Brian Saunderson, running for deputy mayor in Collingwood.
