You will have received and or heard of Collins, McLean and Geurgis’ recent flyers making allegations regarding Bill French and a slate of candidates. First off – there is no slate of candidates, but rather, some fresh-minded, impartial and experienced candidates wanting to help lead a broken Council function as a team, to better serve the constituent taxpayer…s. I agree with the points made by Bill French in his response to the attack mailings, found on his site with the link:

Leadership has been poor on Council, resulting in lack of trust, respect and cohesiveness among the councillors and dissatisfaction of the constituents. Re-electing any of these candidates will continue for another four years what has occurred over the last eight years and this is far below the potential of this great township. The MSP is a major issue and there are other issues that also need addressing by a well-run new Council. The point made by these candidates focuses on the other candidates wanting to stop the MSP. With Council agreement, the Government would be approached to reverse the Special Rule and revert to its original growth plans and the desires of an estimated 96% of the constituents. With whatever is the outcome of that, does it not make sense to have a new honest and seasoned team looking after your interests, independently challenging future growth to adhere to your wishes and really consider the impact of any and all development on farmland, the environment and the quality of life you will experience in the future in this township? Voting for the incumbents or past mayor means more of the same from people who got us to the current situation. Their experience, intellect and negotiating skills haven’t landed us in a position respected by many in the township. The truth through it all is, unless there is change in the leadership of the mayor and deputy mayor, too much damage will be done over the next four years, with significant negative impact long term. The decision, once every four years, is up to you. Please ensure you vote.
