Springwater Mayoral Candidate Opens Campaign Office in Elmvale

from the Bill French campaign

WHO: Bill French, Springwater Mayor Candidate

WHAT: Bill French, a strong favourite in this election, is officially launching his campaign to become

Springwater’s next mayor. This meet and greet format will allow residents and media the chance to

get to know Bill as well as ask questions about Springwater’s contentious election issues including the Midhurst Secondary Plan and the fate of Springwater Park.

WHEN: Tuesday, September 16 4:00-6:30 Official Announcements at 5:30 pm

WHERE: 7 John Street – Elmvale Branch of the Canadian Legion

With over 40 years of business experience in leadership roles, from President to Executive Vice President in international businesses and leading local community and industry organizations, Bill is eager to put his leadership skills to use as the head of the beleaguered Springwater Township Council. “From the Site 41 debacle to now the Midhurst Secondary Plan, it is clear that people’s needs are simply ignored by Council. I want to build our comment of communities up.”

His platform is based on three tenets: leadership, agriculture and environmental responsibility.

This includes tighter fiscal management, more transparent council, preservation of farmland and more support for local farmers as well as protecting our watershed and Minesing Wetlands. Beyond his business savvy and skills, a key differentiator between Bill and his opponents is his desire to fight for Springwater and stop the Midhurst Secondary Plan.

  1. James Tuckett says:

Just wondering why this article refers to “stop the Midhurst Secondary plan” when Bill has been adding the line “in its present form” in his campaign ads and at all-candidates debates. Is he going to “stop” the plan or just some of it?
