The Rural Ontario Summit is a collaboration between the Rural Ontario Institute and the Ontario Ministry of Rural Affairs.

Speakers: Rural Affairs Minister Jeff Leal; David Freshwater, professor of agricultural economics, University of Kentucky; Rob Greenwood, director, Leslie Harris Centre, Memorial University, St John’s.

We will discuss the socio-economic issues that will shape rural Ontario’s future.
Important issues such as:
• Creating investment-ready communities;
• Enhancing our rural workforce, including youth, immigrants and rural residents;
• Fostering sustainable economic growth and job creation in rural Ontario;
• Highlighting health care’s important role in supporting strong rural communities; and
• Providing insight on how to measure success in rural Ontario.
