Two more people have registered to run in the 2014 Barrie municipal election.
Registering on Jan. 7 were Caroline Smith in Ward 4 and Harry Ahmed in Ward 5.
Although new to the council race, both aren’t new to campaigning: Smith is a long-time Simcoe County District School Board trustee, while Ahmed ran for mayor in the last election.
Election Day is Oct. 27. Candidates have until Sept. 12 at 2 p.m to register. Before raising or spending any money on a campaign, an individual must file nomination papers with the city clerk, along with a $100 fee for trustee and councillor, and $200 for mayor.
