Water quality down, forest cover reduced in Innisfil Creek watershed

INNISFIL CREEK WATERSHED: A deputation from the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority reported on their strategic plan and reported on the health of the Innisfil Creek Watershed. Unfortunately the reports that overall water quality is down and forest cover is reduced. The full report can be found here.

TRANSIT: Bradford West Gwillimbury has awarded a contract for three transit buses, two immediately, and the third mid-2014. Shelter planning and pad construction are underway and Transit could start as early as this coming spring 2014.

 

WATER BILLING: Finance reported that the conversation of billing from Power Steam to the town was underway. It was mentioned that meters were in the process of being converted.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE:  The Fire Chief Kevin Gallant presented  a recommended update to the town’s emergency response committee and process. The process hadn’t been updated since 2006 even though it is supposed to be reviewed and updated annually. The proposal was comprehensive and would provide the means for BWG to respond to any major emergency.  Report is here
