Exploring New Approaches to Learn about the Past – a Day of Discussion

We invite you to join us at the Great Hall, Hart House, University of Toronto , on Friday, September 13, 2013, for a day of discussion, titled ‘Celebrating the Huron-Wendat Nation in Ontario: Exploring New Approaches to Learn about the Past’.

The Huron-Wendat Nation, the Ontario Heritage Trust and the University of Toronto are working together on the private reburial of human remains and associated funerary objects culturally affiliated with the ancestral Huron-Wendat.
‘Celebrating the Huron-Wendat Nation in Ontario’ is a full-day educational event that will place the reburial and related topics in social and scholarly frameworks. Speakers will discuss the historical context of this reburial and will explore new avenues for shared exploration of the past.
Simultaneous translation
Simultaneous translation will be provided at the conference to allow for all attendees to participate fully in the event, which will include presentations and discussion in English and French.
