TORONTO – The Ontario government announced Friday it will be increasing GO Train service this summer.
From June 29 to September 2, GO Transit will be operating eight more trains on the Barrie line and increased bus service north of Toronto.
Jeff Lehman, Mayor of Barrie, lauded the announcement saying it would bring more tourists into Barrie.
According to GO Transit, there will be increased service on fourth southbound trips from Union Station, four northbound trips from Union Station and increased bus service between Rutherford GO station and Canada’s wonderland.
Transportation Minister Glenn Murray said the new investment in GO Transit will motivate more Ontarians to choose public transit and help reduce congestion.
