• Questions and Answers
What is the The Midhurst Secondary Plan (MSP)?
The MSP is a plan to build 10,000 homes around the largely unserviced village of Midhurst.
How does this affect Elmvae, Orr Lake and other parts of Springwater?
What will be the cost of building a new city from scratch?
There will be huge expenditures for sewage treatment, fire halls, police stations, recreational facilities, bus service, libraries, etc.
Will this translate into higher Springwater taxes?
Agriculture
Upon completion, 1,800 acres of farmland will be taken out of production. Is this loss of farmland necessary when there are plenty of alternative development sites available much closer to employment opportunities?
Ward boundaries
Midhurst will dominate Springwater politics. Will there be a Midhurst bias on council due to its large population?
Hear the issues and have your say on March 28. For more information
