At the last Active Transportation Committee meeting, Councillor Del Crake announced the that committee should not get their hopes up for transit in BWG because there were so many other important projects that town had to deal with.
There is currently a
need for a community bus since the Council restructured the town, moving most services and shopping to the new side of town and leaving no way for residents in the older section (who don’t have cars) to get to those services and shopping. Transit would also facilitate a renewal and growth through intensification along the Holland street corridor. The more growth we can put there the more farmland we can save. Long term it would help the burgeoning traffic congestion problem.
The service would be within a few minutes’ walk of 90% of the population and would integrate with GO Transit.  The service would be subsidized partially by the town and, therefore, result in a small tax increase.

Interesting that there is hundreds of millions of dollars to put in infrastructure for development on farmland but no money for a couple of busses.
