Septage Study
R.J. Burnside & Associates presented a progress report on the issue. They are on phase 2 and are looking for guidance from council. Burnside has been told by the County of Simcoe that a proposed new compost facility would be able to accept septage.
Deputy-Mayor Lawrence mentions that a $20-$30 million compost facility has been approved by the county.
Councillor Warren was asked, by the county, if the compost facility was located in Tiny Township, would it be willing to take leachate from landfills. Councillor Wishart suggested that any decision on this matter has to include Mayor Miller.
Audio-recording council meetings
Lawrence brought forth a discussion on audio recording of council  meetings. Councillor Wishart’s views are that it is too expensive and that the minutes are available to the public which means the same to him. He comments that the previous council had no trouble with transparency which produced some whispering from some of us in the audience. CAO/clerk Luker states that other municipalities record their meetings and are made public. There will be no more discussion on this topic until the Mayor is available.
Concession 2 bridge
Council passed a motion to start the process of the bridge on concession 2 becoming a historical designation.
Hay Solar Farm Building
An oral submission was made to council, on behalf of Hay Solar and Laurin Investments to discuss the Hay Solar Farm Building Program. Permission has been granted for a 20 minute presentation at the August 13 council meeting.
Woodland Beach party house
Cheryl Forsythe and William Stewart made a presentation to council concerning a rental property on Spruce Street in the Woodland Beach area. It is used as a party house especially on the weekends because of its proximity to Wasaga Beach. Lawrence states that there will be a discussion on this matter at the next council meeting after the staff has done their report.
