A discussion was held on the oral submission made by the Cawaja Beach Property Association, which was deferred from the last meeting. The by-law enforcement issue has been resolved, says CAO/Clerk Doug Luker but the issue about the parking around the beach area still has to be discussed. All councillors agreed to wait for the staff report before any decision is made.
MOE nixes test well
The MOE has refused to put a test well in at the Golflink Road Recycling Centre (old landfill site) because of the cost of $2000. They are currently using a property owners private well which is not appropriate says councillor Wishart.  They are uncertain as to where the contaminates are coming from, the old landfill site or a business in that area.
A letter will be sent to the MOE inquiring when the recling facility will be tested.
Update on Nitrate Problem
Apparently, Burnside says that an appeal has been filed with the MOE concerning the mixing of the Lafontaine and Georgian Sands wells by a concerned Lafontaine area citizen. Councillor Warren would like the person’s name to be made public. Luker says it is not possible. Warren asks that this issue be put to the in-camera section of the meeting. Luker agrees.
