Town stepping up efforts to halt fill operation on Hwy 9

About 50 people from Tecumseth Pines, crowded into the New Tecumseth council chambers last night to plead for help against their neighbour, Volk airport on Hwy 9, which has been accepting tons of fill material from up to 1,500 dump trucks per day, without oversights.

On March 29, the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) suspended the entrance permit issued on May 20, 2011 to the owners of the Volk airport property on Hwy 9 because its “conditions were not being met” according to an MTO spokesperson.
