‘Unknown’ bidder awarded county waste contract

Municipality will not reveal the company’s name, until the seven-year agreement is signed

Simcoe County council is moving ahead towards selecting a single contractor for picking up its curbside waste collection, beginning next year. In an unrecorded vote Tuesday, county councillors voted 16-8 to select an unidentified bidder for the contract. The name of the contractor will not be released, until the contract is signed.
