By Vickie Kee AWARE Tiny April 13 2012
There was a brief discussion on the beach issue appeal with Deputy-Mayor Lawrence thanking the C.E.O., Doug Luker for keeping the residents informed by his update on the Tiny web site. Luker commented that an article will be appearing shortly in the local newspaper on this issue. In the evening meeting, a resolution was brought forward for the possibility of hiring someone, through the proper channels, for the job of communications on this issue. Councillor Claire asked for a recorded vote. Mayor Millar and Councillor Wishart voted in favour and Deputy-Mayor Lawrence, Councillors Claire and Warren voted against. It was defeated.

County Council Update
Deputy-Mayor Lawrence is not pleased about the expansion of Landfill Site 12 in Clearview Township. No new landfills is what the County of Simcoe agreed upon. Councillor Wishart remarks that there still seems to be a
direction towards the landfills and to keep putting garbage in to the ground.  Lawrence repies that progress is being made in the recycling program. Mayor Miller says to eliminate garbage at the source, meaning the manufacturer,
is the right answer. This means zero waste.
