The building permit for Alcona’s proposed Canadian Tire has been revoked. Innisfil council will review a report from director of development Don Eastwood, during its Jan. 4 meeting. The report notes that Canadian Tire has be refunded about $750,146 in development charges, and $23,482 in pro-rated building permit and inspection fees, money that was initially paid to the municipality when the project was approved in 2009. The town will also hold about $173,338, to cover site restoration and remediation.

ALCONA —  Alcona’s long-awaited Canadian Tire may never be built after the corporation was refunded $750,000 in pre-paid development charges.
