re: “Occupy message being corrupted”
While reading the banter between Kearey-Moreland and Stanton I am reminded that every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
I attended the AWARE Simcoe All Candidates debate at Lakehead in September and I found Kelly Clune said it best.  Before she asked her question of the candidates, she congratulated all of them for their hardwork.  She said she believed all of them were doing what they felt was right, and she expressed her wish that it is unfortunate that they cannot all work together to resolve the issues we face today.
Indeed, that is what is needed presently.  Sustainability is something we all must work together to achieve.  When we do this their is no opposition, and without opposition anything is possible, and probable.
A year ago I attended a presentation by John Ralston Saul (Author of the book:  A Fair Country:  Telling Truths about Canada).  He argues that Canada is a metis nation, heavily influenced and shaped by aboriginal ideas:  egalitarianism, a proper balance between individual and groups, and a penchant for negotiation over violence are all aboriginal values that Canada absorbed.  He suggests that If we embrace this transformation of our identity we can unleash our energies from aspiration to action.
As a member of AWARE Simcoe I have witnessed these “idealistic” suggestions coming to life.  People from all walks of life are making a stand together (wealthy-poor,aboriginal-religious, gay-straight, farmers-urbanites, and all nationalities).  Such is the group of thousands who came to support Foodstock and preserve farmland.
So stop bickering Bruce and Jacob and stand together with the rest of us sheeples, to make the change necessary to create a New Earth.
See you there!
