Saturday Sept. 24: Moving Planet event in Midland
Email from Elizabeth Brass Elson (Beth) September 12 2011
Moving Planet will be a day to put our demands for climate action into motion—marching, biking, skating—calling for the world to go beyond fossil fuels.
WHY: For too long, our leaders have denied and delayed, compromised and caved. That era must come to an end: it’s time to get moving on the climate crisis.
WHERE: All over the world.
WHEN: September 24, 2011, meeting at 10:00 am GBNWA
WHO: You, your friends, your family, your neighbors
HOW: A walk is being planned from the Georgian Bay Women’s Association to Little Lake Park in Midland Ontario. The people who participate in this walk are asked to bring something that has not been made with the use of fossil fuels or contributed to global warming. A craft, art, carving, panting, sewing, jewelry or rocks, sticks, medicines, berries, fish, furs, hides or something from Nature you wish to trade or barter with.
Historically our people travelled long distances to trade goods and barter with other First Nations, Farmers, Fishermen, Town Folk and we wish to do some barter/trading for the MOVING PLANET DAY OF ACTION September 24th, 2011.
Please come out and enjoy a morning of trades, barters and gatherings to bring attention to saving our planet!
See you there!
