This past week, a dark cloud has been cast over the city’s effort to hire a city manager. The legitimate right to privacy to which all job applicants are entitled was violated. Council matters that should have remained confidential under the authority of the Municipal Act were improperly disclosed. Unwarranted assumptions and pointed accusations resulted from the incomplete information that was improperly shared.
