County resolution leaves door open for Shotyk plan
By DOUGLAS GLYNN – Barrie Examiner – June 29 2011
A resolution passed Tuesday by Simcoe County council declaring the former Site 41 property surplus leaves the door open for development of the research centre proposed by a geochemistry professor.
The resolution says an 86-acre central portion of the site will be retained pending receipt of an acceptable business plan from Dr. William Shotyk by March 15, 2012. The remaining parcels will be sold; Shotyk and adjacent landowners will be advised.
