SIMCOE COUNTY – Simcoe County council could be taking steps to sell off parts of the controversial Site 41 property.
On June 9, clerk Brenda Clark posted an online notice that suggests the Tiny Township property could be declared surplus land, which would allow the county to sell it.
Simcoe County had pegged Site 41 to be the county’s newest landfill, sparking a public outcry due to the fact the property sits atop an aquifer. Plans for a landfill were nixed last year.
