Push is on to get apartment waste diverted

So, you’re recycling like mad. You’ve become an expert garbage picker — to the point where the yucky job of piling organics in the green bin isn’t even repulsive anymore. Your blue box is four times as large as your garbage bin. You take the tires and other bulk stuff to the transfer station and save your paints and toxic liquids for Community Environment Days disposal.
And still, Toronto’s overall diversion rate is only 47 per cent. What gives? How does the city get to the 70 per cent diversion target?
