Shelburne council is joining Melancthon in seeking a 120- day extension to the statutory 30-day time allowed for responses to the quarry application by The Highland Companies, and the township is lobbying other municipalities to follow suit.
The Shelburne motion to join the township in seeking the extension followed presentations by Melancthon Mayor Bill Hill and North Dufferin Agricultural and Community Task Force (NDACT) Vice President Carl Cosack.
