You will get a chance to have your say on the development of a public transit system in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
Town council passed a motion put forward by Deputy Mayor Rob Keffer Feb. 1 calling for a stakeholder meeting to gauge interest in public transit.
“I think it’s a great idea to have a public meeting,” Ward 7 Councillor Peter Dykie said. “I think a lot of ideas could come forward.”
If enough people show interest at the meeting, council will consider creating a public transit committee to oversee the issue and report back to council.
The date for the stakeholder meeting has not yet been set, but Mr. Keffer said he’d like it to be in March.
Mayor Doug White supported the motion, but said regardless of the turnout at the meeting, council must look into a public transit system, as many residents raised the issue during last fall’s election campaign.
