Warnock, Hughes in running for deputy warden of Simcoe County

Tay Mayor Scott Warnock and Oro-Medonte Mayor Harry Hughes are running against each other for the position of deputy warden of Simcoe County.
At present, it looks as if Wasaga Beach Mayor Cal Patterson will be unopposed in his bid for a second term as warden.
There will be a Q and A session tomorrow (Tuesday December 7) for the candidates as part of the third county council orientation session which starts at 9 a.m. in the Midhurst administration centre council chambers.
The vote comes at the new council’s inaugural meeting, Thursday December 14. Councillors will also be electing the chairs and vice-chairs of the three standing committees – Performance Management, Human Services and Corporate Services. Those committee heads, plus the warden and deputy warden, will make up another important committee, the Governance Committee.
