BARRIE – The election is over and I’m happy to be moving forward. As the daughter of a mayoral candidate it was not always easy to listen to the personal insults over the last few months.
Political differences are one thing, but character attacks another. Yes, my father owns two bars. For those that know him, Rob Hamilton is also a caring husband, father, successful businessman and has been dedicated to giving back to our community for 30 years.
His passion for the city is inspiring. I believe all candidates who ran in our local election deserve a thank you for putting themselves out there and for showing an interest in making our city a better place.
Jeff Lehman, our mayor elect, will have our full support. Barrie has the potential to be a great city to live, work and play – now lets work together and make it happen.
